Extreme Race Day @ Canterbury Park this Saturday

Hi all -

A few weeks back, I asked a simple question:

Is it a good idea for the Mayor of Shakopee to ride in a camel race?

I got a variety positive answers ranging from:

and

The Mayor would be crazy not to. – M. Morris

That being said, I expect each and every one of you to be at Canterbury Park for Extreme Race Day this Saturday, July 21. Racing starts at 1:30 with the camel and ostrich races around 3.

On a more serious note, Canterbury Park is a great Shakopee business and I am excited to ride a camel when they ask! I am very glad to help out.

It is also a great day for kids and families with:

  • Free Pony Rides
  • Face Painting
  • Massive playground
  • Petting Zoo and a
  • Kids Run the Track

I’ll be on live tomorrow morning at 6:40 with KARE 11 previewing the race and KARE11′s brand new Sports Director, Eric Perkins, assured me this morning that he will have cameras at Canterbury Saturday to catch the event.

Well…thanks, Perk.

See you Saturday, come down to the fences and cheer loud!!
