It makes me so happy to share this with you. Often times it is easy to get caught up and focus on the negative, but without a question, your team at the city of Shakopee does a great job of delivering service to our residence and goes above and beyond.
Here’s a note that came to Mark McNeill (city administrator), the council, me and others. Well done to the Police Department, the Officer mentioned and Chief Tate as well as Bruce Loney and Public Works!! Thank you all for your hard work!
Hello Brad and Mark,
I just wanted to share two stories with you.
The first involved a car crash that took place at the street corner located near my home.Being the first on the scene, I made sure that everyone was okay. But that’s not the story, the story begins when the police officer who responded to the call, Officer T, arrived and how he dealt with a situation that became a little awkward.
One of the drivers, a mother of three children, who were also in the care with her, actually had a warrant for her arrest. To make the story short, Officer T waited until a relative/friend arrived to pick up the kids, let them waive good bye, and only after the children were out of sight did he read the mother her rights, and hand cuffed her.
Throughout the entire process Officer T remained calm and in control, yet maintained the dignity of all involved……exemplary example of the motto “to protect and to serve.”
The second is of Mr. Bruce Loney’s quick response to a Senior Citizens complex which had some landscape issues, with an adjacent property, they felt the city was responsible for. Though not as serious, it was still a concern to the residents and management of this complex.
Mr. Loney’s professional involvement with this situation has lead to the complete satisfaction for those involved.
Kudos to both…..its these types of actions, from our leaders, that make me proud of our City.

What good things did you notice this weekend? Have a great week!
